The Society provides travel awards to cover the registration cost for the ASV annual meeting to aid students in presenting their experimental results at the ASV annual meeting. A limited number of awards will be awarded to undergraduate students. Only students who are members of ASV are eligible for an award. Applications from students presenting in the area of plant virology will be considered for the Plant Virology Club’s Milt Zaitlin Student Travel Award.

  • Applicant must be current (dues paid for current year) members of ASV
  • Abstract Submission is required

The Society provides travel awards to cover the registration cost of the ASV annual meeting to aid postdoctoral scholars in presenting their experimental results at the ASV annual meeting. Only postdocs who are members of ASV are eligible for an award. 

  • Applicant must be current (dues paid for current year) members of ASV
  • Abstract Submission is required
  A limited number of travel awards ($1,000) are available to teachers of undergraduate virology students to help defray the costs of attending the ASV annual meeting.
  • The teaching of undergraduate students must be the applicant's primary job; this must be documented in the CV that you will attach.
  • These awards will be made to those that would benefit professionally from attending the ASV meeting.
  • You will be required to upload a current CV or Resume
  • Neither ASV Membership or Abstract Submission is required.

 Global Scholar Travel Award

The Global Scholar Travel Award application is closed for ASV 2026. Notifications will be sent to applicants by the end of December.
